funniest music videos ever -- we love'em!

just take a look at these babies! and don't think we're just being mean here.
if we didn't love these they wouldn't get on this page.

it's just that for some reason or other; maybe a twisted title, a loony lyric or a deranged dance routine, whatever; they make us laugh every time.
we hope they'll do the same for you ;-)

We did have Bill Anderson - Walk Out Backwards    here but sadly ole Bill just walked out himself -- backwards or not, i'm not sure ;-) Luckily we got Sara Evans to bring us this timeless classic. Only country music could get away with this. You'd never guess from the title the hilarious / ridiculous concept behind this great song. It's not rocket science? Well maybe not, but just let me know next time you come up with a idea better than this! It's a gem!

Adam and the Ants - Prince Charming    Fantastic 'new romantic' video from 1981 with one of the best / funniest dance routines ever.

Bee Gees - Don't Forget to Remember Me    A bizarre video concept from the temporarily depleted Bee Gees but as ever a really great song and vocal performance.

ABBA - Dancing Queen    Of course I could have picked any of 100 tracks for this spot. Anyway, here we have it: as ever, musical genius, deranged dress-sense. Lap it up!

Bjork - It's Oh So Quiet    Who said demented? It's just the truly extraordinary Bjork at her best.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads - There ain't half been some clever bastards    A blinding song from the late, great Ian Dury. RIP. We shall not see his like again but at least we have his back catalogue. Unmissable.

Elvis Costello and the Attractions - Oliver's Army    Without doubt one of best lyricists of our time. With a typically great tune this is just as relevant today as when it was written over 30 years back. And a funny performance to boot! What more do you want?

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer    A great song and hilarious, ground-breaking animated video. A legend in it's own lunchtime :-)

Elton John - I Want Love (mimealong)    Here's a guy driving to work while singing along to this superb Elton John single.

Eric Carmen - All By Myself    I just love this ludicrously over-the-top ballad from the improbable-looking Eric Carmen. Sometimes i suspect i'm really a girl ;-)

Frida - To Turn The Stone    Easily the best track from her 1983 solo album. I can listen to it over and over. And just to prove that the Abba 'haute couture' was no accident check out the dress and boots. Oh and don't miss the dance and the curtsy to finish-off. Truly choice!

Gogol Bordello - Start Wearing Purple    What the hell is this guy on? An amazing performance and a great singalong track.

Marc Almond - A Lover Spurned    Surely the definition of 'high-camp and high-drama'. This geezer has some voice! What a fantastic performance. Hilarious and brilliant at the same time! I just love it!

Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights    And what is this woman on? As a matter of fact i'm almost sure she's not on anything ... well except maybe another planet. A truly groundbreaking performance in all departments, from the enigmatic Kate Bush and of course a great song.

Cliff Richard & The Shadows - Do You Wanna Dance    Here's Cliff and the 'Shads' from 1962. Get a load of the dancetastic footwork. Well it was nearly 50 years ago.

Peter Kaye - Is This The Way To Amarillo     Hilarious and a really neat idea. The Tony Christie classic is mimed by British comic Peter Kaye with a host of stars dragged in to make fools of themselves.

Queen - I Want To Break Free    Sometimes i suspect Freddie Mercury may have been gay  ;-o  Anyhow although this is not among the best Queen tracks i could hardly leave out this video.

Elton John - Nikita    I've been a big Elton John fan since back-in-the-day (1970)when he was a nobody with nothing and i spent a stinking wet weekend in a black bin liner on a Yorksire hillside just to see him perform at the ludicrously ill-conceived 'Krumlin Festival'. Nikita is Elton at the top of his game. What's funny about the video? Well the whole thing is meant to be 'fun' but check out the girl, especially the second time she inspects his passport. Wonder as her acting runs the full gamut of emotions from A to B (not necessarily in that order ;-) Choice!

Sparks - This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us    Legendary track from this super-weird duo. No special effects required. Moustachetastic!

Red Sovine - Teddy Bear    Somebody get me up off the floor. I just can't resist joining in with every line. If this doesn't make you laugh, get some help!

The Drifters - Under The Boardwalk    What a superb song! And check out those moves.
